Stupid, Stupid Girl!

Have you ever done anything so stupid, that even as you were planning it, then doing it you knew it was an idiotic thing to do? Now this wasn't anything catastrophic or anything, but just an avoidable dumb thing to do.
Long story short.....I have been dying my hair black for years-I loved it that it was always healthy and shiny....but I have been tired of it for awhile.....Now when I moved to this city 2 years ago I got pretty lucky and found a hair dresser who, yes expensive....was good....
Well she left her salon a couple months ago and I haven been wondering what do do....(not exactly a world issue, but still a head scratcher for me)....I wasn't too happy with her the last time I saw her anyways....I went to her, and we had been talking about it for a bit, I wanted to lighten my hair. I want highlights and wasn't looking for the skunky look that black hair with blond highlights does. So I paid over $250 for a color removal and it worked great. When she went to but a color back on .... I asked for a certain shade...she said no and just went ahead and went one shade darker....basically I got almost the same black-Just a tad lighter. I was pissed.....she said wait a few weeks and come back and she would fix it for free.....so when I called to make the apt 4 weeks later I found out she had left with no notice and no forwarding salon-WTF-I was so pissed and the salon wouldn't do anything even when I explained what happened-
So I said screw it I am not going there anymore then. I spend a lot on hair-Relaxing treatments, colors and 6-8 week cuts.....so whatever.
I really wanted the dark out so....get ready for the stupid......I bought a colour remove kit from the drug store! I figured that it was going to mess up....I actually knew it would but I thought that at least it wouldn't be black still and then I could get it fixed. I just didn't comprehend the damage it would do! So I did the removal....yep it worked....and put a light brown over top...yikes...
Just call me patches....
I panicked a bit. I called my friend I work with because she sister owns a salon, but she was booked solid. I had to go to the gym like this

SO GROSS- Look at it! FRIED!
So after I had a panic attack asked nicely again.....Her sister agreed to fit me in.....But it was a friggin hour drive....
So I baked a batch of cookies to take with me for fitting me in
Mini Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

It was a beautiful drive but my GPS was messing with me again (her name is Mindy the GPS-I hate her) She decided to take me down every dirt road she could find-Now mind you I grew up in the country and am used to dirt roads...but I have lived in the city for 11 years and am not used to pot holes anymore.....
SOB

Plus it was miserable out so that didn't help.....
Loved seeing the farms and the John Deere dealership-Felt like home

But the pot holes were making me a bit grumpy!

ugh! The poor car!!

Can you see the tractor driving down the road-Miss seeing this all the time....
I was thinking where the hell am I going-But I was still having a good time getting there even with all the bad roads.
I finally got there and the town was so small-very cute though.
My friend Sherri was at her sisters shop so she kept me company as her sister gave me trouble for doing this to my hair! It was breaking off and was so dry now. So she put a light brown with some red in it(I usually hate red in my hair) But I love it....I was pretty sad at how much she had to cut off (4 inches or so) but it will grow back and because of it breaking she had to. I am going to go back in 3-4 weeks and get some highlights! FINALLY! So it all worked out but I am still an idiot......
Here is a quick shot of it when I got into the car!

Before

After
So the drive back wasn't as fun....I was starving and the Green Monster I had brought and drank at 1530H (It was now 1700H) was not holding me over.....To make matters worse I forgot to take in the cookies to the shop and now I had these staring at me the whole way home (1Hr drive)
Damn Cookies
So I rationed myself these
And ate about 20 on the way home-Had a bit of a stomach ace and I think I actually burnt my tongue from the sourness of them.....
Finally got home and Ray got home late too-He asked me to order Sushi for him-I had a couple pieces but just wasn't into it for some reason......

I did however eat the majority of the edamame....they were good......

I am happy with the hair-Even though it could have been done a different way, I think it worked out-I got some.
I did buy some Moroccan Oil to help with the damage I did to my hair-Hope it helps....never used it before.....
It is apparently just as good as the regular Moroccan Oil-Just 1/2 the price....

Ok enough procrastinating...Now that I am caught up in blogging.....I am off to do 10K-I started online tracking my mileage yesterday-I have a running log book, but thought I might as well keep track on here too.

sounds like a hair nightmare. I usually never go to the salon and rarely cut my hair..when I do dye it I buy the stuff from the drug store! LOL

And thanks so much for reminding me they're called capers. That bagel was Delicious because of them! Awesome!

I have those candies! I can only eat one or two, which I guess is what I like about them.
